Red Creek, Cayo District – August 14, 2025 – On Tuesday, August 12, Nexgen provided scholarships to two deserving students at its Belmopan office. The recipients, Shaniri Ba and Raymond Camal, Jr., received their certificates, a backpack, and a Nexgen pledge that their school fees will be covered for the next year. Ms. Ba is going into first form at Our Lady Guadalupe R.C. High School (OLOG) and Mr. Camal will go into second form at Belmopan Methodist High School. The scholarship includes fees, tuition, and other incidentals, along with free internet for the entire school year. Both students are part of the Belize Police Department’s Community Outreach initiatives, led in Belmopan by PC Moore. The organization also received 50 backpacks.
Commenting on the scholarship program, Chief Executive Officer Adrian Lizarraga commented, “The central part of Nexgen’s mission is the empowerment of people and helping them to reach their full potential. We know that a lack of financial resources can often be a barrier to higher education, and our hope is that this assistance will help remove that barrier for some of our most promising students.” “By investing in their education, we are not only helping them achieve their dreams but also strengthening the future of our industry and our community as a whole”, he added.
Also on Tuesday, Garden International Ministries received 50 backpacks for some of the children who participate in their programs as well. On hand to receive the bags were Mr. Adam Klausing. The organization remarked, “Each backpack will be placed into the hands of a child who may otherwise go without, serving as a practical expression of love and hope. Partnerships like this help us continue our mission to serve our community with compassion, dignity, and excellence.”
